Interview by Morticia
Interview “mini-view” March, 2018.
When did The Long Losts form? What is the origin behind the band name?
The Long Losts formed in 2012 out of Anka and I wanting to spend more time together.
The story of our name, well we met in 2008 but dated on and off till 2012. During our longest break Anka decided to move to Prague. Scared that I would never see her again and knowing that I loved her, I basically stopped her and told her I wanted to spend the rest of my nights with her. So the story of two souls finally finding their way back to each other in the very end gave us our new band name, The Long Losts.
How many band members are there and what are their stances in the band?
Anka: Vocals and tambourine
Patrick: Guitar and backing vocals
What are band practices like? Do you have a set time each week?
Practices are fun. It’s just the two of us. Basically when life lets us is when we practice. We go into the spooky attic in our house and make music.
What has been your biggest challenge as a band?
Our biggest challenge as a band is balancing the joy of writing and recording music with the frustration of promoting it and getting it out in the world.
If you guys could play at any venue anywhere, where would it be?
The catacombs in Paris. I don't know if that counts as a venue but none the less!
Do you have a Motto for the band? Or a superstition?
You can find the Long Losts on Facebook:
